We try to update our inventory as often as possible, however, sometimes our manufacturers run out of stock before we can catch it.
As soon as we receive your order we automatically reach out to our suppliers to confirm that it is in stock and available for immediate shipment.
If your item is on back order or unavailable we will reach out to you via e-mail or phone and you will decide whether to wait for the item to become available or cancel your order.
Unfortunately, we are unable to take Medicare, Medicaid or Insurance payments.
If you don’t meet the requirements to qualify for Medicare Part B and you need to pay out of pocket, you can still purchase a mobility scooter or power wheelchair conveniently online. E-commerce sites such as American Mobility Specialists offer a massive selection of mobility scooters and power wheelchairs at reasonable prices. Electric mobility scooters are available in three types; Folding Mobility Scooters, 3 Wheel Mobility Scooters and 4 Wheel Mobility scooters. Power and manual wheelchairs are also available in all varieties.
On the other hand, if you do qualify for Part B, you need to purchase a scooter from a qualified DME supplier that accepts the assignment cost from the federal government. Both your durable medical equipment (DME) supplier and your doctor must be enrolled in Medicare for you to qualify for a fully covered scooter. Unfortunately, American Mobility Specialists is not a DME supplier.
Doctors and suppliers have to comply with a myriad of regulations to get enrolled into Medicare (and stay enrolled for that matter). Therefore it’s important you verify their enrollment.

HCPCS codes are primarily used by Medicare and Medicaid for billing and identifying items and services. Some of our products will have the HCPCS code in the product page, but not all. For more information about HCPCS Codes, go check out https://www.medicalbillingandcoding.org/hcpcs-codes/
All our scooters and power chairs are categorized as mobility scooters. They have serial numbers. They don't have vehicle identification numbers (VIN). You don't need a drivers license or insurance to operate them. If you are worried about their legality please see the next question.
The US Department of Justice has set regulations implementing the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for Wheelchairs, Mobility Aids, and Other PowerDriven Mobility Devices (OPDMDs).
People with mobility, circulatory, respiratory, or neurological disabilities use many kinds of devices for mobility. Some use walkers, canes, crutches, or braces. Some use manual or power wheelchairs or electric scooters. In addition, advances in technology have given rise to new devices, that some people with disabilities use as mobility devices, including many veterans injured while serving in the military.
For some facilities, such as a hospital, a shopping mall, a large home improvement store with wide aisles, a public park, or an outdoor amusement park covered entities will likely determine that certain classes of OPDMDs being used by people with disabilities can be accommodated. These entities must allow people with disabilities using these types of OPDMDs into all areas where members of the public are allowed to go.
In some cases, even in facilities such as those described above, an OPDMD can be accommodated in some areas of a facility, but not in others because of legitimate safety concerns. For example, a cruise ship may decide that people with disabilities using Segways® can generally be accommodated, except in constricted areas, such as passageways to cabins that are very narrow and have low ceilings. For other facilities such as a small convenience store, or a small town manager's office covered entities may determine that certain classes of OPDMDs cannot be accommodated. In that case, they are still required to serve a person with a disability using one of these devices in an alternate manner if possible, such as providing curbside service or meeting the person at an alternate location.
Please be aware that due to the size, weight & dimensions may cause the mobility device to not fit inside a certain store or place. Please always use caution for your safety and the safety of pedestrians and never ride on dangerous roads.

Please print it and keep a copy with your mobility device to show interested parties. You may want to laminate it to preserve it or keep it in a folder.
